Labrador Intertidal @ 0.3m

This morning woke up at 5:30am to gear up for today's intertidal trip with Marcus, Shuying and Alex at Labrador, Singapore last natural rocky beach on the mainland. Though we reach later than expected, the shore was still very alive and we marvelled at God's creation throughout. It was a great trip and I'm looking forward for the next one in October.

Early "birds" like us catches the "worms"

"Sea-veggie"? Algae I suppose

This thing looks like dead flower but shrivels and disappear upon contact

Purple sponge

Part of a hard coral

This slimy looking mud is alive!

Dead calcium carbonate skeletons of corals

Confused..are they sea anemones or comb jellies family type?

3 in one... spot them!

It's dead, too bad

Is this dead too.. you decide

See spider? or "Sea-spider"

Barnacles

Mudskipper cutey

Aerial view from top

Can you afford to lose our last rocky shore?

Sentosa Seagrass Transect

Hello all! Had a great start to a day by waking up at 5am in order to reach Sentosa's last natural shore on time with low tide. Though I was sleepy and tired, the nature enthusiasism never seem to run out throughout the day and time passed real fast while we were having loads of fun. God's creation are marvellous. Just look at the biodiversity of the creatures living there! Today I was not really my usual self, rather I was estatic and shuffling about the whole stretch of shore like a kid in a playground nonstop. Kudos to the Wild Singapore team, esp Ria and Siti, for organising this event. They really took a lot of hardwork and heart into preparing everything "swee swee" or beautiful for us. Thanks also for our Team Halo for all the good job, we had good company. Siling backed out last min, oh sad man, you missed out a lot. :P

I have a lot of photos I wanna share, it's going to flood my blog. I don't care cos they are so beautiful! Let the picture do the talking, not me k?

Field Trip to MacRitchie Reservoir

Today group of NUS student together with lecturers, we went to MacRitchie for a geography field trip and it was good, but not as exciting, because I've been to HSBC treetop walk and the area two times already last year. Anyway, I have friends like Jianyu, Shuying, Karen, Edwin, Jieqi and Peiling to accompany. Saw Amy also, so it's not boring in terms of company. Maybe due to the fact we spent 80% of time walking and 20% discussing about the issues by Prof Higgit, it wasn't really that productive. I still enjoyed being outdoors, soaking the sun, immersed in the greenery etc. Learnt quite some stuffs too.

Welcome to Treetop Trail

There was a controversy of water sports in reservoirs. But our water works system is so good that it doesn't really matter.
