Cartoon slug at Changi

This morning, I stumbled upon a really cute creature at the sandbar area of Changi. It looks very cartoon!

And so it was the Moon-headed side-gill slug (Euselenops luniceps). My first time seeing this! The shore explorers have only seen it at Sisters Island and Chek Jawa before.

These cartoon creatures get their common name because they have a large plume-like gill between the mantle and the foot, usually on the right side of the body. Can you see the light yellowish gill structure beneath the dark purple foot?

This comical-looking fellow has a broad foot and flattened body which is well adapted for crawling over sand or burrowing underneath. Soon, it decided to burrow and hope to see it again next time!

Today's trip was a really mollusky one... found some unknown snails! More to share tomorrow!
