New Aeolid slug from Changi!

This morning I was at Changi with James and my friend Grace who visited the shore today for her first time. It was great to be back at Changi after about 10 months of absence!

There were several interesting finds on the shore but the find of the day must be this slug that I have not seen before.


This is an unknown Aeolid slug that was found at the rocky area of the shore. It is very pretty with many red colour cerata (finger-like projections).


Morever, it seems to have a long tail at the back!


The cutest part of this slug must be its front where you can find a pair of yellow eye spots, rhinophores at the top and oral tentacles.

Don't you think this shot looks like a cartoon character trying to put its hand into its mouth?


So where exactly was this slug originally found? I was looking hard at this Candy hydroids to find the elusive Cuthona nudibranch (Cuthona sibogae). To my surprise, I found a pair of unknown Aeolid instead.


Here's the other one, still clinging onto the hydroids. It's always great to see something new, despite visiting the same shore over and over again.
