Tomato clownfish at Terumbu Semakau

Today was our virgin trip to Terumbu Semakau, a submerged reef off Semakau landfill. The highlight of the trip for me was the ultra cute Tomato anemonefish.

Here is the

Tomato anemonefish (Amphiprion frenatus) with its home, the Bulb-tentacled sea anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). These animals were situated right at the edge of the reef, thus showing a blue blackground indicating the reef slope beyond.

Here's a side profile of the pretty Tomato clownfish. The fish was really quite defensive over its host and darted a couple of times towards my camera when I got a bit too close.

Here is a photograph taken above water with Semakau landfill at the background. Indeed, our "rubbish island" has more than just thrash and ashes. Just a stone's throw is a marine haven!

And now, the best part of this post will be the two videos I've taken of this cute fish. Yes, the photographs doesn't do justice so enjoy the video! :)

This video first shows Semakau landfill from Terumbu Semakau before getting underwater to see wild and natural marine life in action!

This second video shows more of the anemonefish. :)
