Believe me... work has swamped me that I hardly have time to blog. Sorry for this delayed post. :P
On the 3rd of April, a team of us set off from mainland before the sun was up...
And when we were approaching our destination, the sun was slowly peeking over the horizon. We were going to Beting Bemban Besar (BBB), a huge patch reef off Semakau.

Charming Changi shore
As mentioned in my previous post on the aeolid slug, I have not visited this stretch of Changi beach for more than 10 months! And finally I could find a date to drop by this charming shore where life persists on despite harsh weather condition, silty waters and human impacts.
This trip also is my first morning/predawn trip of the year. We were greeted with a beautiful pinkish sunrise in the middle of the trip on a Good Friday morning.

Special nems of Beting Bemban Besar
Today is my first decent trip to Beting Bemban Besar, a patch reef just opposite Pulau Semakau. The last trip during January was quite a disaster because of the heavy downpour as well as the stonefish incident
We found many special anemones on the reefs today!
The most special one is this bright blue version of what seems to be the Giant carpet anemone (Stichodactyla gigantea)! We have never seen such a blue carpet anemone in Singapore before! When I first found this anemone, I was very surprised.

New Aeolid slug from Changi!
This morning I was at Changi with James and my friend Grace who visited the shore today for her first time. It was great to be back at Changi after about 10 months of absence!
There were several interesting finds on the shore but the find of the day must be this slug that I have not seen before.
This is an unknown Aeolid slug that was found at the rocky area of the shore. It is very pretty with many red colour cerata (finger-like projections).
